What sets our Louisville location apart is our commitment to personalized, continuity-based care. Unlike corporate dental chains, Young Dentistry for Children is privately owned and operated by the very pediatric dentists you and your child will see at every appointment. We’re not just dentists who work in this community — we live here, raise our families here, and are deeply invested in the well-being of every child we serve. This personal connection means we understand the unique needs of Louisville families and can provide care that feels more like visiting a trusted neighbor than a clinical appointment.
Our Louisville pediatric dentist office offers a comprehensive range of services designed to keep your child’s smile healthy and bright. Whether you need routine preventive care like cleanings and fluoride treatments, restorative treatments such as tooth-colored fillings and dental crowns, or specialized services including sedation dentistry, space maintainers, and lip or tongue tie releases with laser therapy, we have the expertise and technology to meet your family’s needs. We also understand that dental emergencies don’t keep business hours, which is why we offer emergency and after-hours dentistry to ensure your child receives prompt care when they need it most.

How Much Local History Do You Know?
Louisville’s story began in 1877 with the opening of the Welch Mine, marking the start of coal mining operations in Boulder and Weld counties’ Northern Coalfield. The town was named after Louis Nawatny, a local landowner who platted his land, and it officially incorporated in 1882.
What made Louisville unique during its mining era was its independence. Unlike many mining communities, Louisville never became a “company town” controlled by a single corporation. Instead, approximately 30 different mines operated within the town’s boundaries over the years, with as many as 12 running simultaneously during peak production from 1907 to 1909.
Coal mining shaped daily life in Louisville for decades. Since the low-grade coal couldn’t be transported long distances due to combustion risks, mining primarily occurred during winter months when heating fuel was in demand. This seasonal work pattern led to a beloved summer tradition: miners playing baseball at the aptly named “Miners Field.” The town also witnessed significant labor struggles, including the violent Colorado Coalfield War from 1910 to 1914, when striking miners clashed with mine guards and the Colorado National Guard.
As coal reserves depleted and mining became economically unviable, the last of Louisville’s mines closed in the 1950s. Today, Louisville has evolved from its mining roots into a thriving residential community. In 2001, the city transitioned from a statutory city to a home rule city, giving it greater local autonomy and control over its development and future.
